Jackson Back For Argyle Clash

Full back travels with team to sout

9 August 2019

Colchester United right back Ryan Jackson is back in contention for the weekend trip to Plymouth, as the U's hit the road for the first time this season.

Ryan had been absent with a stomach injury, but is back in the fold for the long journey west this weekend.

Speaking to the press ahead of Saturday's game, Head Coach John McGreal said: "It just gives us a little bit of competition in that area, with Cohen and Kane.

"I thought Cohen was outstanding last week, but Ryan Jackson was our Players' Player of the Year last year, so we've got a little bit of a headache at the minute.

"Do we try and fit them all into the team or do we drop one out?

"I'd rather have that problem though and when you have quality players like that at your disposal, you have good decisions to make.

"Ryan's a fit boy and he'll be fine – there's no question about that.

"He's an older pro who knows his body and he's very seldom missed a game for me in two years, so he'll be wanting to play I tell you that now."

The U's will also make a call on the fitness of Paris Cowan-Hall, who missed last week's season opener against Port Vale.
