Brennan Departs To Join MK Dons

Winger signs deal with Tisdale's men

30 May 2019

Colchester United winger Brennan Dickenson is to depart the club this summer, having agreed to join MK Dons following their promotion to Sky Bet League One.

Brennan was one of the out of contract players offered a new deal by the U's at the end of the season, but has opted to sign for Paul Tisdale's side.

Having signed in the summer of 2016, the 26-year-old picked up the U's Player of the Year and Player's Player of the Year accolades in his first season with the club and, having battled back from a serious knee injury, he went on to make a total of 93 appearances, scoring 15 goals.

With Brennan moving onto pastures new, the U's will now focus their attentions on potential replacements.

Director of Football Tony Humes said: "Brennan did really well for us over his time at the club and worked hard to come back from that injury to get back into the first team.

"We offered him a contract to extend his time at Colchester United, but he had a good offer from MK Dons and we wish him all the best at his next club.

"Brennan will be a loss because of the positions that he played, but it's something we're aiming to address with a replacement.

"We have got recruitment targets and we will see how they develop in the coming weeks."

All at the club wish Brennan well in the future and thank him for his efforts on and off the pitch during his time in Colchester.
