On-loan defender Jayden Richardson says the mood in camp is good as the U’s prepare to host Forest Green Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
Richardson has been in with the U’s since the early part of January, making two appearances after his arrival until the end of the season from Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.
And he has paid testament to the togetherness within the group, brought by the new management, as his side look to make it back-to-back wins for the first time in 2024.
“Every game of football is important, but the situation that we’re in, it adds that little bit extra. We have to go into every game thinking that we have to win it.
“The managers here are big on connections, so having that time [between the games] to build connections with the boys on and off the pitch is massive. Hopefully we can progress with these connections and it can help us on the pitch and everyone can see that.
“We’ve been working intensely in training on what they want to bring to the team and how they want us to play, so it’s good for the boys that were here before and good for the new guys to connect with their ideas and everyone comes together.”
