U's boss excited for opportunity in front of Sky cameras

22 March 2024

Colchester United boss Danny Cowley has said it’s a good opportunity for his side this weekend against league leaders Mansfield Town.

Both the U’s and the Stags need points for different reasons, and will be playing to a wider audience with the game to be shown live on Sky Sports from 12:30pm on Saturday afternoon.

The TV cameras give Colchester a chance to show how far they’ve come, according to Danny Cowley.

“Saturday’s a great opportunity for us to show the progress that we’ve made. Whenever you play against a top team, they always give you instant feedback, so no doubt, we’ll take a lot of learning from it.

“We’re determined to show the best version of ourselves, and with the game live on Sky it’s a great opportunity to show the rest of the world, or whoever’s watching just how far we’ve come in recent weeks.

“We’ve had the likes of Fiacre Kelleher, Zach Mitchell training with us, Ellis Iandolo has trained all week, and Samson Tovide is now day ten of his return. The squad is growing, which is so important because we have thirty-five days left of the season come Saturday.

“It won’t be an eleven man job, this is going to need everybody – and if we can keep improving then we know we can get the outcomes we want.”
