U's Look Forward

14 January 2013

U's focus on Hartlepool clash - and new additions.

"Fans can expect two or three new signings this week before we go to Hartlepool on Saturday with even more determination to reward our loyal fans for their support and to get winning again."

"However, I still have every confidence in Joe’s ability to turn the situation around and when we spoke after the game, it wasn’t long before our conversation turned around to how we move forward and lift Colchester United out of the bottom four.

"Therefore, following a run of defeats it was only natural for him to consider alternate solutions, including his own job.

But Chairman Robbie Cowling has told the club's official website: "Joe has been at Colchester United for a long time, cares passionately for the club, and only wants what is best for it.

During the post match interview with the media, the U's’s manager spoke about the need for him to consider whether he was still the right man for the job.

On Saturday, Scunthorpe United went away from the Weston Homes Community Stadium with the win, bringing about the U's ninth defeat in succession.

The U's will work towards next weekend's match at Hartlepool, with boss Joe Dunne still firmly at the helm.

Dunne has already made one move in the transfer market since the weekend, bringing in Chelsea's Sam Walker until the end of the season.
