Category Two Update

16 June 2014

The latest, following the club's recent Academy audit.

However, they must look at their indoor facilities, with chairman Robbie Cowling telling us:

After narrowly missing out last year, the U's were recently reaudited and met the majority of criteria required to achieve Category Two.

Colchester United have been told that they are set to receive Category Two status for their academy, but must first find alternative indoor facilities.
“The good news is that we will get Category Two this season.  "However, they are going to set a deadline for when the indoor ball court is in operation.
They will not accept either the current surface at Warrior's Rest or the ancillary facilities there.

"We may need to find an alternative venue and very quickly or we’ll be back to square one again."

The U's are now waiting to hear what they need to do – and when the deadline would be – in order to meet the criteria. Further information is expected to follow in the coming weeks.
