U21s fight back for victory.

Colchester United U21s fought back from two down to defeat Brentford on Tuesday afternoon.

John McGreal's men found themselves two behind after only twelve minutes, in a frantic opening period that also included a Bees penalty saved by James Bransgrove.

Faced by that deficit, the U's battled back into the game.

They got one back before the break, with the second penalty decision of the match. Drey Wright was the man felled in the area and he picked himself up to convert the spot kick to make it 1-2 just before half time.

And, less than a couple of minutes after half time, they were level.

James Bransgrove lofted a goal kick forwards and it was Dion Sembie-Ferris who latched onto it before smacking the ball past the Bees goalkeeper and levelling up the scores.

The match saw both sides have further chances, before another set piece decided affairs. Wright was to be the match winner, stroking home a free kick around the wall and into the right hand side of the goal to nudge the U's in front for the first time.

U's: Bransgrove, Brampton, O'Donoghue, Roast, Lokko, Wright, Lapslie, Curtis, Smith (Issa 71), Hubble (Nwachuku 46), Sembie-Ferris

Unused subs: Carroll, James
