U's Beat Palace

24 April 2017

Bonne strike and own goal earn the points.

Colchester United have won their latest U23s fixture, coming from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1.

The U's took a strong side to the match at Dulwich Hamlet, with Dillon Barnes, Kane Vincent-Young, Charley Edge and Macauley Bonne all featuring in the latest away day.

The visitors fell behind just after the half hour mark, but quickly found themselves level as a quickly taken throw allowed Bonne to get in on goal and make it 1-1.

Wayne Brown's side were boosted by that leveller and went on to have a positive second half.

And they got their noses in front as a freak own goal made the scoreline 2-1 - a lead that the U's were not to give up as they gained some revenge for losing the corresponding fixture earlier in the season to the Eagles.
