Midfielder makes return in U23s draw.

U's: Bransgrove, James, Kent, Peter, O'Donoghue, Lapslie (Edge 60), Regis, Diaz Wright, Brown, Sembie-Ferris, Sheriff

"They showed that they don't know when they're beaten - it's important to stay in games when you're not playing well, and in the end that is a decent point against a Coventry side that had won their last five games."

"I was pleased with what I saw in the end from the lads," Wayne added.

The Sky Blues got their noses in front with eight minutes remaining, but the U's again got level with a cracking strike from Charley Edge who fired one into the top corner in the dying moments of the match.

"The second half started with us looking a bit stretched and it was only a matter of time until they scored. Sometimes you have to see out those spells but, although we didn't manage that this time, we did get ourselves level quickly with a goal from a corner by Decarrey."

"We used the width well on regains, which was one of the team's challenges on the day.

"The first half was pretty even and we maybe had the better of the chances in the first half," he told the official website.

And boss Wayne Brown was happy with his side's determination not to lose on Monday.

Decarrey Sheriff and Charley Edge were the U's goalscorers in a game that saw Tom Lapslie play just shy of an hour on his return to action after nearly two months out.

Colchester United U23s were praised for their character, as they twice came from behind to draw with league leaders Coventry City on Monday.
