Loanee striker heads back to West Ham

Elliot Lee has returned to West Ham.

The eighteen year old striker has been with the U's for a month, scoring once in four appearances.

He was thrown straight into the starting line up against Shrewsbury, having only just met his new teammates, and has been an ever present in the league for the U's.

Dunne thanked the Hammers, adding: "I'm not worried about taking young players out of the Premier League on their first loans and I'd like to thank West Ham for letting us take another of their youngsters."

"It will stand him in good stead for his next loan, I'm pretty sure West Ham will feel he needs another, and for his future career."

"This was Elliot's first loan away from his parent club and he should have learned a lot from it.

U's boss Dunne felt that the loan spell should do the young Hammer the power of good as he aims for regular games with the Premier League side.

He scored his U's goal in dramatic fashion, an injury time equaliser at Rotherham, but has now returned to East London to push towards first team football.
