Fantastic three year deal for North Stand.
Colchester United and local business have teamed up once again ahead of the new season, with Weston Homes Community Stadium's North Stand getting a new sponsor.
The club have been proud to work with businesses in the surrounding areas in recent years, with a host of local suppliers teaming up with the League One side.
And, for the next three years, the North Stand will be sponsored by a taxi company based in the town.
The North Stand will be known as the Roman Cars Stand and their branding will be in place when the U's kick off the 2014/15 season against Oldham Athletic on August 9th.
John Moss from Roman Cars said: "This sort of sponsorship has never been done before by a company of our size, and I want everyone in our company to adopt our local football club and I want to encourage customers to get involved in our local team, even if it is a second side.
"It is important for me that people see that Roman Cars are associated with Colchester United and have adopted them as our side.
"It is beyond my wildest dreams that we have been able to sort this out for Roman Cars. I would have never believed a company of our size could ever do something this big and we will be immensely proud when we can call the stand the Roman Cars Stand.
"We believe that a sponsorship like this will help us make Roman Cars the number one taxi firm in Colchester, as well as the main one that Colchester United can use, to supply a great service to its supporters and customers.
"We are going to brand our cars up very soon - that's how passionate we are about adopting our local team as a local company!"
Fans of the U's – and visiting teams arriving in the town by train – as well as business users of the stadium, will be encouraged to use Roman Cars services (01206 515515 or 01206 521521) as the club continue to promote companies around the town.
Lloyd Webb, Sales Executive at the football club, said: "Roman Cars have shown great desire to work with us to push both businesses forward and we are looking forward to seeing the new branding running across the whole of the Roman Cars Stand and converting the owners and drivers to being loyal Col U fans!"
It is one of a number of deals struck by the U’s commercial team ahead of the new season as companies back Joe Dunne and his side for the 2014/15 campaign.
And Michelle Tricker, Head of Sales, added: "We are delighted to have a local business showing such support and commitment with a 3 year deal and we will be relying on Roman Cars as a local firm we can call upon as a taxi service not just on match days but throughout the year with the many events held at the stadium.
