Essex Air Ambulance fundraiser hits the mark.
Over 1,300 bikers descended on Weston Homes Community Stadium, home of Colchester United FC for the all new rebranded Essex Motorcycle Show on Sunday 22nd July.
There were numerous trade stands by major manufacturers including Parkinson Motorcycles, TK Cope Motorcycles and Cannon Motorcycles on hand for bikers to take advantage of special on the day deals.
Meanwhile, training schools CADAM, Total Advanced Training and EAMG made a return to the show along with a brand new slow riding competition. 52 motorcyclists were taken for an assessed ride out on some of the demo bikes available, with 46 signing up to take part in a bike safe workshop with Essex Police.

"Weston Homes Community Stadium proved to be a great venue especially for the first time holding this event at the football ground and we look forward to developing the Essex Motorcycle Show in years to come.”
The sun was shining and a great day was had by all with fun activities for all the family including bouncy castle and activities for the children. Visitors were even treated to special flyovers by the Essex Air Ambulance and Police Helicopter.
Volunteers modelled the latest styles on offer, promoting protective clothing ranges with contributions from various local dealers; including Parkinson Motorcycles, T K Cope Motorcycles, G H Motorcycles & Jim Aim Motorcycles.
The Safe n Sexy Show returned with cat walk and music courtesy of Street Promotions; promoting the benefits of wearing protective clothing and how bikers can look really good and be safe at the same time!
The event also saw the official Media launch of the 13th annual Essex Air Ambulance Motorcycle Run on Sunday 16th September.
Event Manager Wendy Marcon of Essex Air Ambulance was joined by headline sponsors Woodland Group and Cofunds, members of the organising committee including Essex Wings who started the first Motorcycle Run in 2000 and Harwich Motorcycle Club; Jim Aim Motorcycles who have kindly donated the pre-registration star prize, and Police Motorcyclists for official photographs.
Volunteers were on hand at the Essex Air Ambulance stand to sign people up for the Motorcycle Run and 130 bikers took the opportunity to pre-register. All bikers that pre-register for the event are automatically entered into a prize draw to win the star prize; a biker spending spree worth £1,500 courtesy of Jim Aim Motorcycles.
Wendy Marcon, Events Manager of Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust, said: “We are delighted with the success of this year’s Essex Motorcycle Show and despite the postponement of the event in April due to the severe weather conditions at the time, the sun shone and it was encouraging to see so many bikers and families turn out to support the event.
"The show raises vital funds for Essex Air Ambulance and an incredible £3,300 was raised on the day.
"Thank you to all the exhibitors, our sponsors and partners for the Motorcycle Run and to the motorcycle community for their continued dedication and support towards the county’s life-saving helicopter emergency medical service.”
