U's Flash: Jabo's In Town

27 September 2012

Striker signs on a loan deal.

U's boss Joe Dunne has made his first venture into the transfer market since taking over as full time manager, adding striker Jabo Ibehre on loan from MK Dons.

The powerful forward has always been a tough man to handle in his games against Colchester United and Joe has wasted no time in drafting him in ahead of the game against Hartlepool United this weekend.

Jabo has penned a three month deal with the U's, taking him to the game against Brentford on Boxing Day here at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on December 26th.

Having started the first game of the season for Karl Robinson's Dons, Jabo has subsequently come off the bench for the next four matches and will be looking for first team football upon his arrival at the U's.

He told the official website: "I’ve settled in magnificently and the lads have made me feel very welcome.

"I came into the changing room on Tuesday and knew more players than I anticipated, which was cool.

"Walking into a new changing room usually feels like it’s your first day at school again but I knew a few faces so it was easier to introduce myself.

"I was buzzing to come here and play when I heard a couple of weeks ago that there was interest from Colchester United.

"As a footballer, you just want to play so I was really happy that an opportunity had opened up.

"Then things changed and I was wondering what was going to happen but finally it was sorted and I’m excited to be here."

His move will be completed subject to paperwork clearance by the relevant authorities.
