Jack Gets Development Deal

Simmons extends U's stay

Jack Simmons has been offered a professional development contract.

The eighteen year old has impressed throughout the season, and has now been rewarded.

He is the third member of the U's U18s to be offered a first contract, following hot on the heals of Nnamdi Nwachuku and Billy Roast gaining their new deals.

And Jack received praise from the U's youth team boss.

Tony Humes, Head of Youth, told the official website, "Jack really deserves this development contract and congratulations must go to him for the performances he has shown both in training and in matches."

"We took him off Ipswich this time last year, and he has progressed really well in the past twelve months."

Explaining Simmons' strengths, Humes continued, "He is a bright player and his real attributes are how direct and dynamic he is, something that always puts defences on the back foot."
"As with Billy and Nnamdi, we have talked with Jack about what he needs to concentrate on and made it clear that there is still a lot of hard work still to do."
