The Signings So Far

7 July 2015

We look at Tony's business in the summer to date.

Colchester United boss Tony Humes made his fifth summer signing on Monday, as former Yeovil Town captain Joe Edwards arrived to bolster the midfield ranks.

Tony has had a busy summer as he looks to shape the squad ahead of the new season and there could be more to follow as the new season draws closer.

If you've been away over the last few weeks, or just busy at work, here's our recap of the summer signings thus far ahead of the first game of the season against Blackpool.

June 1st: Brindley's First Up
After a successful loan spell, Richard Brindley was the U's first summer signing. His move was a return to Essex for the dynamic full back, having previously played for Chelmsford City prior to moving into the Football League with Chesterfield.

June 10th: Bailey Comes To Town
Having played in the U's U21s towards the end of last season after his release from West Ham, Kieran impressed enough to earn a contract with the U's. He'll be a regular in the U21s this season as he pushes for first team football.

June 22nd: Briggs Is Back
Another member of the team that guided the U's to League One safety last season, Matthew Briggs followed Richard Brindley in converting his move to a permanent one and he can expect to be playing regular football this season.
