A Busy Day For Eddie

21 March 2016

U's mascot does his bit for Sport Relief.

Colchester United mascot Eddie the Eagle was a busy boy on Friday, as he did his bit for this year's Sport Relief fundraising.

Eddie was out all day and visited a number of places to lend his support to activities across the local area.

First up was a trip to Market Field School, where the pupils were holding a fundraising football match.

After keeping a close eye on the match during his time at the school, Eddie then winged his way into the town centre, where he visited the staff at Sainsbury's on Priory Walk, as they did their bit for the national charity.

Next up was a dash across to Lion Walk to help them launch their Ride to Rio, an effort to cycle the equivalent distance from Colchester to Rio on exercise bikes.

They'll be riding in Lion Walk for all of this week, so pop by and say hello!

A photoshoot and a quick ride on the bikes later, and Eddie was on the move again, this time visiting Sainsbury's in Tollgate.

Following his stint there, it was off to Great Totham, where he visited children at the local nursery, alongside young defender Michael O'Donoghue.

And Michael wasn't the only player out and about, as George Elokobi and Marley Andrews visited St Gregory CEVC Primary School in Sudbury for their very own fundraising football match.

A busy day for all concerned!
