Colchester United loanee defender Matthew Briggs made his international debut on Sunday evening.
Matthew lined up in defence for Guyana, as they took on Grenada at the Providence Stadium in his family's home country.
And, with former U's man Neil Danns in midfield, Guyana ran out 2-0 winners with both goals coming from front man Pernell Schultz.
Having spent a week with his national team, Matthew now returns to England to help the U's with their survival quest, although he is set to miss the Good Friday game against Port Vale due to suspension.
