Ipswich, Chelmsford and Maldon booked in for pre-season.
The first three of Colchester United's pre-season friendlies have now been confirmed, as the build-up to the 2016/17 season begins to take shape.
The U's will begin pre-season with a trip to Maldon & Tiptree on Saturday July 9th (3pm kick-off), signalling a return to their former club for Femi Akinwande and Ben Wyatt.
The first of the home friendlies will be the now familiar home encounter with Ipswich Town, who come to the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Wednesday July 20th in a 7.45pm kick-off.
The third friendly confirmed at this stage is a trip to Chelmsford City.
The match will see Rod Stringer's Clarets host the U's on Saturday July 23rd in a 3pm kick-off.
A number of further games are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, including at least one more home fixture as John McGreal's men prepare to take on League Two next season.
