Sammie extends U's stay.
Starting on July 1st, the new three year deal will take him to the summer of 2019. Colchester United have agreed a new contract with youngster Sammie Szmodics.
The twenty year old forward, who has been with the U's over ten years already, made his debut in September 2013 and has made fifty four appearances in total.
He missed a bit chunk of last season with a foot injury but is looking forward to pre-season and is pleased to have agreed the new deal.
"It was so frustrating last season, not being able to get out on the pitch and having to watch us battle against relegation from the stands.
"Missing so many games has made me really hungry for football and I can't wait until we get started again at the end of the month.
"Being offered a new contract when I have missed half a season shows that the club has faith in me and I'm really grateful and can't wait to repay that faith."
