Defensive Decision

9 October 2015

Tony to decide on back four in Briggs' absence.

Colchester United boss Tony Humes has a defensive decision to make as the U's prepare for the trip to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

Matt Briggs picked up his fifth booking of the season in the defeat to Bury last week and will miss the trip west to take on the Shrews in the U's latest league game.

Tony will decide how to reshuffle the pack, with George Elokobi potentially in line for a recall after missing the last few games.

With Alex Wynter out of action after an ankle operation this week and Kane Vincent-Young sidelined, the further loss of Briggs at left back has seen young defender Cameron James drafted into the squad for the weekend fixture.

Otherwise, the U's are in good shape as they look to bounce back from the Bury game and start another unbeaten run to consolidate their place in the top half of the League One table.

U's: Jones, Parish, Elokobi, Eastman, Harney, Kent, Olufemi, James, Edwards, Garvan, Gilbey, Moncur, Lapslie, Massey, Harriott, Ambrose, Sembie-Ferris, Bonne, Sordell, Porter
