Christmas gift has unexpected bonus.
A Christmas present bought at the end of 2015 an unexpected surprise for one U's supporting family.
Susan Wheeler bought a copy of the My Layer Road book for husband Dave for a festive gift, only for Dave to spot himself and father Ron on the cover image.
That cover photo features the U's in action against Leeds United in the famous FA cup tie from 1971, which turned out to be the last game that Dave and Ron attended together before Ron sadly passed away.
As a result, Susan got in touch with the U's, and we were able to send her a copy of the original photo (pictured above), which was given to Dave as a birthday present at the end of January.

Having overcome the initial surprise and the memories the picture had brought back to him of his father, Dave now very proudly shows the book to visitors to the house.
