Getting To The Stadium By Car
Colchester United and the club's Supporters' Association have tried to provide a number of alternatives for supporters so that they can leave their car at home when coming to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
For some supporters though, the car is the only method of getting to the ground.
For directions to the stadium by car, click HERE. The postcode of the stadium is CO4 5UP, but you may find that your sat nav system does not acknowledge this postcode at present.
It is recommended to use CO4 5ZD, which is the nearby Flaktwoods factory and to follow the road down to the stadium from there.
MATCHDAY CAR PARK PERMITS
Please note that there is only limited car parking at the stadium itself, with just under 700 spaces in the main stadium car park.
For a map of the car park, click HERE.
These are available on a match by match basis at the cost of £6 per car, but must be pre-booked via the Ticket Office by calling 0845 437 9089.
Visiting supporters are able to pre-book a car parking permit, but only limited numbers will be made available to travelling fans, so early booking is advisable.
Colchester United supporters are also able to buy a permit for the season to take away the worry of finding somewhere to park. For details of how to book a place for the whole season, please call the ticket office.
Fans wishing to get dropped off may do so by being left at one of two points:-
- Boxted Road bus turning zone - strictly no parking, as well as no post match pick ups at this entrance
- South Stand Car Park (as directed by steward)
PARKING EXCLUSION ZONE
Both Colchester United and visiting supporters should be aware that the immediate area around the Weston Homes Community Stadium is subject to a Parking Exclusion Zone on matchdays.
Covering both existing Clearways and also nearby residential areas, these roads will be marshalled by Colchester United and Essex Police to prevent parking on roads not permitted under the Stadium Travel Plan.
Parking enforcement will be carried out, so you are advised to check signage and lines carefully. Note that the Clearway restriction is not marked by yellow lines - but is zoned within signs marked with a red cross on a blue background.
Clearway means that you cannot stop to load or unload passengers, wait or park, and the restriction applies to the disabled drivers "blue badge".
The following roads have a Clearway "No Stopping" restriction, which also extends to roadside verges and footways:
· Northern Approach Road;
· Boxted Road;
· Langham Road;
· Severalls Lane;
· Axial Way; and
· United Way.
Most other areas have either resident only parking restrictions or yellow lines. Residential areas subject to these restrictions include:-
* Mile End Road
* Nayland Road (particularly near the Dog & Pheasant pub)
* Turner Road
* Mill Road
Marshalls will also be monitoring nearby residential estates such as those leading off from Mill Road onto the 'Roman Place' development to encourage safe parking in those areas.
Please respect the resident areas near the ground.
Owners of any vehicles contravening the parking restrictions could be liable for a Penalty Charge Notice (£70).
TRY THE ALTERNATIVES!
In general, the advice remains - please try our other options in the Matchday Travel Service, found under this link.
Fans coming by car are able to park in town car parks, paying the required fee, before joining up with the Matchday Rover service or Shuttle Bus service shown under the Matchday Travel Link.
Town centre car parks can be found HERE, whilst there is also an extensive pay car park at Colchester Train Station.
