The U's play their latest friendly on Wednesday night, as they take on Blue Square South side Bromley.

Following Tuesday's defeat at Gillingham, the players travelling to Kent will be hoping to make a positive impression on boss Geraint Williams ahead of the weekend's big game against Bolton Wanderers.

There are a number of players with first team experience making the journey south, all of whom harbour serious hopes of pushing into the starting eleven for Saturday's match and the following weekend's league opener at Sheffield United.

Pat Baldwin misses out as he is rested due to a minor knock picked up in the early stages of the game against Liverpool on Saturday, and the remainder of the squad for Wednesday's game is made up of youth team prospects.

The U's will come up against former Layer Road regulars Gareth Williams and Bobby Bowry in their latest match.
