U's boss Geraint Williams admitted that the team's recent run of results had finally caught up with them when they fell to a heavy defeat to Norwich City on Saturday.

Whilst matching their opponents for the first forty-five minutes, Norwich ran away with it in the second period and the Layer Road chief saw his side fall to the joint heaviest defeat of his reign so far.

Speaking after the game, he told the press: "It has probably been the case that the games we've played this month have caught up with us and, when you're on the type of run we have been on, it is a case of tired minds as well as tired bodies.

"We have eleven senior players out at the moment and that makes it even harder to freshen things up when they're going against you, but we will keep going as there is still pride to play for in the next few weeks."

The U's created plenty of chances of their own in the 5-1 reverse at Carrow Road but were once again unable to stop the goals going in at the other end.

"In many ways, I felt that the game encapsulated our season," Geraint added.

"We created chances, we didn't look bad between the two boxes but again we were unable to defend."
