Chasing The Silverware
Posted on: Mon 28 Apr 2008
Steve Downey's youngsters will be hoping to make it third time lucky when they take on Hull City in the national final of the Youth Alliance Cup.
The U's have twice lost at the last hurdle in recent years and they will be aiming to overcome the Tigers to lift the last piece of silverware at Layer Road on Monday night.
The game kicks off at 7pm and will give fans another chance to take a look at the two players who will become first year professionals next year - James Hammond and Fabian Quintyn.
The big final is also an important occasion for the four young players released by the U's last week, as the club looks to get them sorted out with a club for next season.
Admission is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
Scouts wishing to watch the game should contact Caroline Pugh via the usual channels.
U's: Smelt, Speed, Griffiths, Hammond, Bailey-Dennis, Nelson, Malton, Oakley, Quintyn, Sansford, Olusanya, Pirie, Pavett, Corcoran, Lartey, Marvell
