Bromley Inflict First Defeat

The U's suffered their first defeat of pre-season on Wednesday, as a young side fell to a 3-2 defeat at Bromley.

Fabian Quintyn had opened the scoring on 16 minutes as the U's continued to grab the goals in their build up to the new campaign, but the non-leaguers came back strong as the first half wore on.

And the U's found themselves 2-1 down by the time that the half time interval arrived.

The deficit extended to 3-1 not long after the restart, but the U's were given late hope in the second half as an own goal by Bromley brought them back into the match.

Despite late efforts, the U's were unable to find an equaliser and they now turn their attentions to the final two friendlies of pre-season against Norwich and Athletic Bilbao over the course of the weekend.
