The U's shared the spoils with Norwich City on Monday lunchtime as the game finished 1-1.

Medy Elito scored the U's goal, striking in from the edge of the box to put the visitors in front.

Arturo Lupoli got a second half equaliser for the Canaries, acrobatically volleying home an overhead kick beyond the dive of Mark Cousins.

However, first team coach Joe Dunne was delighted with what he saw from his players during the course of the ninety minutes.

"Everyone's contribution was very pleasing and I know that Norwich were happy with what they got out of the game," he told the official website.

"There certainly could have been more goals and these games are better than any training session.

"I was really pleased with Steven Gillespie's hour on the pitch as he caused them plenty of problems with his movement throughout the game.

"His movement and sharpness is coming back and all he is missing now is a goal.

"He is a quality footballer and he will always get in and get chances and the match was a useful exercise for him."
