U's Still Keen To Strengthen

With just over a week of the transfer window remaining, the U's remain very much in the hunt for fresh additions.

The U's have made three additions in the window so far, with Marc Tierney converting his deal to a permanent one and Jimmy Walker and Lewis Gobern penning loan deals in that time.

And work continues to further add to the ever improving squad.

"We have made no secret of the fact that we want to strengthen the squad and we are still very active in the market," assistant boss Ian Culverhouse said on Thursday.

"We have spoken to a lot of clubs and although things are a bit slow at the moment, we think things will eventually happen.

"The chairman is backing us, but as a club we will not pay silly money for players.

"People look at us and see that we've spent a bit of money in the past year or two but we will not pay over the odds."
