"We have been Colchester supporters for twenty years and have managed to get our grandson involved as well," Roger explained.

"I love the stadium, and have enjoyed seeing the team play under the new manager.

"I really like Paul Lambert. When someone takes over, you have to give them time, but he has done a good job already.

"He has made some good signings and the team is looking good under him.

"I hope other fans will do the same and renew next season to get behind the players."

One of the club's key aims was to offer affordable ticket prices for all and, as a result of one of next season's changes, there was good news for Roger's grandson.

"He has just bought a flat with his girlfriend and wasn't going to renew because obviously it's an expensive business when you move house.

"But because of the 17-21 prices that have been introduced, he can now afford to do it. When kids are just starting out in life, it isn't easy, but something like this will really help them."
