Community Day Now In August
Come along and help celebrate the first birthday of the Weston Homes Community Stadium!
To mark the occasion of the first year of life at the award winning venue, a community open day will be held on Sunday 2nd August at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
The event will run from 10.30am to 4pm with activities for the whole family including:-
• Tours of the stadium at 10.30am, 12noon, 1.30pm and 3pm, giving you the chance to take a peek behind the scenes
• Sporting fun on the five-a-side pitches with tournaments and come and try sessions
• Colchester United players and mascot Eddie the Eagle will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos
• Free massage taster sessions, mini health checks and the chance to have a go on the Blendavenda - a smoothie maker which is powered by an exercise bike!
Refreshments will also be available.
Mike Springett, Colchester United Community Sports Trust Acting Chief Executive, said: "We hope to see lots of new faces at the stadium for the community open day.
"It's a great opportunity to come and have a look around this fantastic facility which is already offering many benefits to the community, with even more planned for the future.
"The open day looks set to be great fun with lots for all of the family and we look forward to welcoming people from throughout the Colchester community to the event."

"The stadium has already proven itself to be an exemplar of community involvement and an event such as this will allow the club to further fulfil its aim of being a true community partner.
"The Weston Homes Community Stadium has a wide range of facilities to offer all sections of the community and we look forward to holding a very successful day."

Please note the community open day was originally set to take place on Sunday 5th July however, it has now moved to Sunday 2nd August due to reasons beyond our control.
