Joe Takes The U's On The Road

Posted on: Fri 21 Aug 2009

BETTING TIPS BY CHARLIE ALLEN
Joe Dunne takes charge of his first away match as he takes the team to MK Dons this weekend.

After a week of ups and downs, it was Dunne who managed to get everyone's spirits up as he led the U's to a 2-1 over Gillingham.

The U's are 12/5 to come away from Stadium:MK with all three points and to keep up their 100% league record.

MK Dons, now managed once again by Paul Ince, are priced as favourites with odds of 11/10 with the draw at 12/5.

The U's once again will be up against one of the players they loaned last season this time in the shape of Jermaine Easter.

Easter is favourite to score the first goal on the day with odds of 6/1. Kevin Lisbie bagged another goal mid-week and is 7/1 to break the deadlock against MK Dons.

Another ex-U's loanee who is now in the Dons squad is Lewis Gobern, who is 14/1 to score first.

Kem Izzet looks set to play alongside David Fox in the centre of midfield once again following the recent departure of club captain Dean Hammond, and Izzet's odds of 28/1 to socre first are well worth a few pounds!

As for the score, this fixture last season finished 1-1 and that scoreline has the shortest odds of 6/1.

The U's look a good bet to steal a 1-0 win at 15/2 and that could well be where my money is going.

The Dons are 8/1 to win 2-0 on the day and end the U's up to now perfect start to the season.

The U's came from behind to win against Gillingham and are a long shot at 33/1 to be losing at half time and go on to win the match.

Moving away from the U's quickly - and I am not the only one to do so this week! - the Premiership sees a packed schedule of games.

After Manchester United's loss to Burnley mid-week they will be looking to bounce back, but have to travel to Wigan who I'm sure will be looking to inflict their second defeat on two games.

Portsmouth are not going to get any favours from Arsenal and their on pitch fortunes still look unlikely to improve.

Man City will be looking to impress the home fans for the first time this season as they face Wolves at Eastlands.

MK Dons v U's Prediction: 0-1
Best Bet: U's to win 1-0 at 15/2
Accumulator Tip: Man City, Arsenal, Leeds, Gillingham, Brighton, Watford and Bury
