Students from around the country will be given the chance to sample the Colchester United matchday experience later this month, thanks to the club's latest Supporters of Tomorrow initiative.

The U's have linked up with leading local nightclub Escape to provide a night to remember for students returning to education or starting out at one of the town's educational institutions.

With hundreds of new students from around the United Kingdom set to descend on the town with Essex University's new term starting at the end of the month, the club are hopeful that they can find plenty of supporters looking to adopt a new club.

"I am delighted to be putting on such an exciting and great value for money event for the students in Colchester," U's Sales Executive Darrell Fox said.

"This group will form a big part of our supporters of tomorrow and attracting new support will play a big part in helping us achieve our aim to be a sustainable Championship club."

Students aged 16 upwards will be able to purchase a match ticket for £5 for the upcoming match against Charlton Athletic and, as part of the link up with Escape, over-18s will be able to jump on a shuttle bus after the game, which will take them direct to the nightclub, where they will be given free entry - hopefully to celebrate a U's victory!

Damien Stone, owner of Escape Nightclub, added: "Colchester United have a spectacular stadium and great facilities.

"Everyone here at Escape are extremely proud and excited to be working with Colchester United this season and hope that this first night is going to be a big success."

What's more, the later part of the night at Escape is not only available to students.

Any season ticket or match ticket holder for this game is also able gain free entry to the nightclub on presentation of that ticket at the door.

There will also be special drinks promotions on offer for all attendees in what promises to be an exciting evening for all concerned.
