Colchester United's Weston Homes Community Stadium is quickly becoming a fortress.

No side in League One has picked up more points in front of their own supporters than the U's, as they continue to be defiant in maintaining their promotion push.

Aidy Boothroyd's men have picked up eighteen points at home this season, more than fellow promotion hopefuls Charlton Athletic and Leeds United.

In all four professional English divisions, only Chesterfield and Dagenham & Redbridge have picked up more points at home.

The U's excellent start to the season is starting to be reflected in crowds rising at the award winning Weston Homes Community Stadium.

At the start of the season, the U's were attracting home support of around 4,000 to 4,100 but, in more recent weeks, this has risen to around 4,700, a jump of some 17.5%.

Indeed, with 142 travelling supporters on Saturday, there were 4,738 U's fans in the crowd - the third highest of the U's home games this season, beaten only by the visits of Leeds and Charlton.

Across the 30 home league games to date, the Walsall match had the eighth highest home fans support as the town gets behind its team's promotion push.
