U's boss Aidy Boothroyd believes that his side will face a tough test against Oldham Athletic this weekend.

Saturday's opponents have only won two out of eight at home this season, but Aidy believes that under manager Dave Penney, the Latics will give the U's as tough a test as they have faced so far.

"Dave has done all of his qualifications, got three promotions and is a manager who has been overlooked when bigger jobs have come up," Aidy told tdhe official website.

"He is a very astute, bright guy and he has always achieved things.

"His budget isn't the biggest at Oldham, but he has got them going and they will be a tough opposition on a very big pitch."

The U's faced a sodden pitch at the Weston Homes Community Stadium last Saturday and inclement weather conditions are again expected to play their part this Saturday when they go to Boundary Park.

But having seen his side held by Exeter, Aidy wants them to go one better this time around.

He added: "The weather will be a factor, with blustery winds forecast for the weekend.

"We will have to overcome the conditions better than we did on Saturday, because we got out of jail.

"We could have been three down in ten minutes and whatever level you're at, you have to be at your best from the start.

"You have to be at it from the first moment and you can't just switch it on like a lightbulb.

"I was disappointed and irritated by that last Saturday.

"That said, we came back twice and so if you can be as bad as that and get a point, you can look for a positive somewhere.

"It hasn't been brushed under the carpet this week, we've looked at it and we will go again on Saturday."
