U's boss Aidy Boothroyd is ready to face a flexible Hereford United side when the team travels to Edgar Street this weekend.

The U's will face a side that have changed systems on a regular basis in recent weeks and Aidy knows his side will have to be on their game to progress through to a potential pay day in Round Three.

"They're a good side and one with a cup pedigree. One of my favourite goals of all time in the FA Cup is Ronnie Radford's effort against Newcastle, which provides great FA Cup memories for me," Aidy said.

"We know it will be difficult and that we have to be as professional and as ready as we were for Bromley if we want to get into the next round.

"As I said before, any team that wants to be successful has to have a balance of style and efficiency.

"Those that are just stylish tend to be midtable unless they have exceptional players.

"Teams that tend to be efficient get success, but the best balance is when you have a bit of both."

The U's have not had the best fortunes in the FA Cup in recent years, but memories of a trip to Chelsea in the FA Cup in the last promotion season remain fresh in the mind for many supporters.

And Aidy wants the same again this year.

He said: "I want to win every game and we'd like to have a cup run and do well in the league.

"Our squad is big enough to cope, although whether it's quite what I want I'm not sure, but it will sort itself out in January and in the future."
