Ribeiro Returns For Derby Clash

U's loanee Christian Ribeiro is back in contention for a place in the starting line-up for the match against Southend on Monday night.

The Bristol City defender has missed the last two games with a groin strain, but is back and available for the visit of the U's Essex neighbours.

And, as he waits to see whether he gets the nod for the Essex derby, he has revealed he would consider extending his stay with the League One promotion chasers.

"I was glad to come down here and I'd be more than happy to stay here if it gets extended," he told his own personal website at thetalkofsport.com.

"It looks good on the CV to say I've played X-amount of games.

"Fingers crossed by the end of the season I'll have played 15-20 league games which will be a really successful season for me."

The U's will make late decisions on Kevin Lisbie and Paul Reid for the clash against the Shrimpers, but otherwise they are in good shape for the visit of Steve Tilson's men.
