The U's will hold a minute's silence on Monday evening in memory of former Macclesfield Town manager Keith Alexander.

Keith's sad passing early this week has shocked the football world, and Aidy had been a friend of the long serving boss.

He told us: "I had the privilege of working with Keith for two years at Mansfield and he was a true football man through and through, enthusiastic and driven, a caring man with a brilliant sense of humour.

"Keith was one of the unsung heroes of football management, he didn't get the glitz, glamour or credit like so many good managers in the lower leagues.

"He always did an outstanding job with the resources at his disposal, overachieving on a regular basis while competing and beating his competitors.

"He will be sorely missed."
