U's Progress To County Final

A late, late Craig Arnott winner sealed the victory for the U's on Tuesday night as they progressed past Dagenham & Redbridge in the Essex Senior Cup.

Arnott, who had come on to great effect in the previous round against Maldon Town, was introduced at half time and grabbed the vital goal to send the U's through to the final.

The match had seen plenty of chances come and go, with Mark Cousins excelling between the sticks for the U's, whilst the visitors also put the Dagenham goal under plenty of pressure.

Ian Henderson had earlier hit the post for the north Essex side, but first year trainee Arnott continued his goalscoring run in the competition with a calmly taken finish at the death.

The U's will face AFC Hornchurch in the final, after they pulled off a surprise win against Conference South side Chelmsford City.
