The U's young Norwegian Morten Knudsen sees a specialist on Friday after limping out of training.

Morten will be having a scan on his knee and U's physio Tony Flynn is fearing the worst.

"We will obviously have to wait for the results of the scans but it has the classic characteristics of an ACL,(Anterior Cruciate Ligament), rupture.

"Morten was trying to change direction quickly, caught his studs in the ground and people close to him heard a popping sound.

"These, along with the fact that the swelling was immediate, point to a rupture but I hope that it turns out to be less serious than that."

Should it be a rupture, Tony explained that surgery wouldn't take place just yet, saying; "We would have to wait about six weeks for the knee to settle down before an operation is possible."

"Morten was immediately put on crutches and depending on the results, may well be out of action for the remainder of the season."
