U's boss Aidy Boothroyd is in determined mood ahead of the weekend game against Tranmere Rovers.

The U's know that they have to win on Saturday and, should Huddersfield slip up against Stockport, close the gap ahead of next weekend's game at the Galpharm Stadium.

And the U's manager is keen to get another home victory under his belt.

Wherever the mood was after Saturday's game at Hartlepool, now it's one of determination," he told the official website.

"I'm not settling for the position that we're in and I am far from happy with where we are. We are going to finish as strongly as we can, getting points as many as we can.

"We've got to win all three, it is as simple as that.

"We will go out to do that, but of course we go out to win every single game and that is a good strategy to keep aiming for.

"Our home form has been really good and we have got to see if we can win our two home games, with a cup final inbetween."

The U's are currently on a run of just one win in eleven games, but have only lost three times during the course of the season on home territory.

Aidy is confident that his players remain in good shape, and that he has looked closely at how they've been getting on, both on matchdays and during the course of the week.

He added: "When you're in a position like this, you look listen and try and get a feeling from players.

"Are they putting in a shift, are they doing what you want, is there positivity? We have still got all in abundance and that is the fantastic thing.

"We have got players who are annoyed as I am when we don't win.

"I know it is just a matter of time before we get back on a winning run.

"You worry if you don't get that sort of commitment and response from what you're trying to put in place. However, I've had that from the whole squad from day one and the response is still there."
