Derby Date For Youth Team

Colchester United's youth team host Essex neighbours Southend United this weekend.

The Shrimpers visit north Essex on Saturday morning, looking for some revenge after the U's 5-0 win earlier in the season.

Saturday's match was originally scheduled for March but has been bought forward due to both sides having a spare weekend.

Tony Humes' young U's side will be hoping to build on last weekend's performance, when they progressed into the Area Semi- Final of the Alliance League Cup thanks to a 4-1 win over Stevenage.

Once again, a handful of U16s will be involved, all looking for places in the U's youth team full time next season.

The game takes place at the Garrison 'B' Ground, kicking off at 11am.
