Rebirth Through Decay - Layer Road Recalled
As Autumn draws nearer the fragility and beauty of decay becomes more evident.

Rebirth Through Decay was inspired by the submission by local people of photographs depicting loved areas of Colchester that had fallen into disrepair along with artwork depicting decay in humanity and all things organic as part of the cycle of life.

This exhibition will include; Dave Buckingham reminisces about Layer Road Football Ground with videos, photos and original turnstile, Lisa Temple Cox premiers her film of a decaying head and Tracey Johnson displays new work on the theme of decay, Steve Allenby displays his night photography of Colchester and many others.

As part of life's rich cycle decay plays a vital role, making way for the seeds of change.

Slack Space Colchester grew from such and acknowledges its origins in this exhibition.

This exhibition is part of the GIFT art events taking place in Colchester for the people of the town from Slack Space Colchester.
