U's Spread The Word To Commuters

Posted on: Fri 30 Oct 2009

Colchester United spent Thursday afternoon and evening spreading the word on the bright start to the season to the area's commuters.

The club have been working hard around the town to tell the successes of the early months of the campaign - as well as the fantastic facilities now on offer at the award winning Weston Homes Community Stadium.

And on Thursday, it was the commuters' turn to hear the latest, as part of our efforts to engage the town with their local football team.

"We managed to hand out fliers to nearly 2,000 people during the course of the afternoon," U's Media Manager Matt Hudson said.

"The club are proud to be from Colchester and we know that many supporters are too.

"The heritage of the town is one of defiance and pride in where they come from and that happens to this day in the stands at Colchester United.

"We are always keen to help build on the growth we are already experiencing in our crowds this season, and by giving commuters the chance to have their slice of Colchester life at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, we believe the attendances will keep rising."

Tickets remain on sale for ALL home games this season, including the big four matches in the coming months against Southampton, Norwich City, Southend United and Leyton Orient.

Fans can buy tickets for all of those games on colutickets.com, by visiting U's Central over the weekend - or the Stadium Club Shop during the course of the week.
