A Special Visit For Sam

There was a very special knock on the door for young supporter Sam Batterham at the end of last week.

Sam had recently been declared the winner of our Eddie the Eagle birthday card competition at the match against Exeter City.

And Eddie decided to pop around to see Sam and his family to drop off his prize of Christmas panto tickets at the Mercury Theatre.

Sam was delighted to see Eddie, saying: "I wanted to say thank you very much to Eddie for coming round to my house, it was a great surprise.

"I have told all my friends at school and they were very jealous!

"I loved watching the U's 7-1 win against Norwich, my favourite player is Danny Batth and I love Eddies goal celebrations and dance with my Dad and cousin Benj when we score."

Sam was back at the Weston Homes Community Stadium last weekend to watch the U's beat Bristol Rovers.
