U's Head To Germany
Posted on: Fri 15 May 2009
The U's pre-season build-up will include a week in Germany as boss Paul Lambert looks to get his players in tip-top shape for the new season.
Following the pre-season friendly against Tiptree United, the U's will head off to Bonn for an intensive week's work in the lead up to the 2009/10 campaign.
Paul had already been to Germany during his time with Wycombe and will take Colchester to the Rhineland this summer.
The U's boss told the Gazette: "Germany will be really tough for them - it's really warm there in the summertime. I know the way they're organised and the way they work there.
"It's not like places like Spain, where teams go over there and they have the life to go with it. Cologne and Dortmund are nearby, but predominantly it's football-based.
"There won't be much nearby - it's work and that's what I want to do."
We'll have more details of the pre-season activities in Germany nearer the time here on CU-FC.com, so stay tuned for all of the news here on the official website.
