Aidy Happy To Go Back To Basics

Posted on: Mon 25 Jan 2010

The U's picked up a clean sheet on Saturday and boss Aidy Boothroyd was happy with how his side had picked themselves up after two heavy defeats.

Gillingham have done well at home this season and the U's battled hard to pick up a useful point.

Aidy told the East Anglian Daily Times: "We got back to basics defensively today," said a happy U's boss.

"Unfortunately today the ball just wouldn't drop for us in their box, but you have games like that.

"It would have been great to nick three points, but with 20 minutes to go I was thinking that 0-0 was alright.

"Overall I thought it was a very even game and a fair result for both teams.

"We've got back to what we do, getting points away from home, and now we'll try to get three points on Tuesday."
