Boss' Pleasure At Latest Win

Posted on: Wed 17 Feb 2010

U's boss Aidy Boothroyd was delighted by the team's latest win, away to Yeovil Town on Tuesday night.

It means the team are right back in the thick of the promotion race with just fifteen games to go.

"It was scrappy and it was tough," Aidy told the East Anglian Daily Times.

"We knew we would have to defend against them at times and I thought, after Saturday's performance, we were excellent.

"They had a really good go at us at the end, but we defended for our lives and managed to stand firm.

"We didn't open them up enough, but you can't come to places like this and get the ball down and spray it around.

"Leeds have still got a game in hand on us and it's still only February, but even so this is still a really pleasing result.

"If you are going to win leagues or get promotion these are the sort of places you've got to come to, get ahead and stay ahead. We didn't manage that on Saturday, but we did tonight."
