Bond Backed To Be A Success

Posted on: Thu 01 Jul 2010

New U's signing Andy Bond has been backed to make a big success of his move to Colchester United.

Bond became the U's first signing of the pre-season campaign, joining on a free transfer from Barrow.

And Robin Hulbert, his former team-mate at Holker Street, told the North West Evening Mail: "Bondy definitely has what it takes to play at that level.

"I feel he is the perfect example of a modern day central midfielder.

"He is one of the fittest box-to-box players around, the type of player managers want in the middle of their team these days.

"Obviously he knows there's parts of his game he needs to improve on, but who doesn't need to improve?

"Moving up two leagues is a big step but it's not a massive gulf playing-wise. He'll do a good job."
