Rose Pleased To Return

U's defender Michael Rose has admitted he was pleased to be back in first team action for Saturday's win over Bury.

Rose returned to his left back berth for the 4-1 win over the Shakers and was delighted to be pulling on the blue and white stripes again.

He told the Colchester Gazette: "It felt really good to be back out there again.

"I'd been waiting a long time and I've had more than three months of frustration.

"There was a sense of relief at being back in the team.

"I felt like I had let down the lads, the manager, the fans and my family before.

"I've been a bit down over the last three months or so but hopefully I can stay in the team now."
