Combative centre half who joined the U's after agreeing to have his contract paid up by former club Barnsley. Paul had spent three years at Oakwell, captaining the Tykes to promotion via the play-offs in 2005/6 and playing a key part in their first season in the Championship.
He found first team opportunities more limited last season though and is looking to make the most of his fresh start as part of the U's push for promotion over the coming months.
